Child Enrichment

Child Enrichment Inc. is a child advocacy organization that currently serves Augusta and surrounding areas to provide abused children and their families with the resources they need. Since its establishment in 1978, CEI has served over 28,000 children by coordinating interventions, providing family stability, promoting child advocacy, and countless other resources. In October 2023, Child Enrichment opened its new $6,250,000 state-of-the-art facility, marking a new beginning and brighter future for children facing these unfathomable hardships. Learn more.

The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation strives to make kids better today and healthier tomorrow through the philanthropic support of individual donors, charitable foundations, such as the ACU Foundation, and corporations. CHOG

In Augusta, GA, and the surrounding region, the pediatric specialists at Children’s Hospital of Georgia are dedicated to the health and wellness of newborns, infants, children, adolescents, teens, and young adults. The 154-bed facility is themed around a combination of nature and technology to create a calming environment for patients and families. Children’s Hospital of Georgia specializes in care for both routine illnesses and complex diseases, serving as the region’s only Level IV NICU and Level II pediatric trauma center.

Dawson County Family Connection

Dawson County Family Connection is one of 159 county collaborations under Georgia Family Connection, all committed to improving conditions for at-risk children, families, and communities. In 1991, Georgia Family Connection was created by Gov. Zel Miller as a response to the state ranking 48 out of 50 in the 1990 Annie E. Casey Foundation KIDS COUNT report. This initiative called for the Departments of Education, Human Resources, and Medical Assistance to collaboratively improve the well-being of children in Georgia.
For their 2024 initiatives, Dawson County Family Connection is focusing on increasing family stability through the improvement of mental wellness.

Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries

Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries (NCM) is a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency assistance to families of Gwinnett County in Norcross, Peachtree Corners, Doraville, and Tucker. NCM is supported by twenty-three local churches, several businesses, civic and social organizations, foundations, and individuals. Today, NCM serves between 50-70 families daily and has expanded its ministry beyond a food pantry to include job readiness classes, hiring events, financial literacy classes, English courses, health fairs, financial/utility assistance, clothing assistance, and medical assistance. Junior Achievement of GA

Junior Achievement USA is a nationwide organization that focuses on providing high-impact programs to young people in areas of financial literacy, career readiness, and fostering the entrepreneurial spirit. Junior Achievement is the nation’s oldest and largest economic education organization, with over 100 years of experience.
Junior Achievement of Georgia’s (JA) mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. They offer hands-on programs on the middle and high school levels to bring business, the economy, and personal finance to life. Their programs include JA Biztown, JA Finance Park, and 3DE. The organization has office and program locations in Atlanta, Lawrenceville, Cumming, Dalton, Savannah, and Augusta (coming 2024).

Quinn House

The Quinn House Outreach Ministries, Inc. is a faith-based organization committed to making a difference in the lives of Gwinnett County residents through food distribution, clothing/home goods assistance, and men’s addiction recovery. Comprised of two parts, Quinn House Outreach Ministries has a thrift store located in Lawrenceville and a men’s residential program for drug and alcohol recovery. The Quinn House seeks to provide direct assistance for basic human needs while creating a positive, judge-free environment. It is renowned in the Gwinnett County community for its contributions to the lives of residents. Learn more.

Wilderness Works

Founded in 1997, Wilderness Works provides year-round enrichment, experiential education, and mentorship for children ages 8-18 living in Atlanta’s toughest neighborhoods. Wilderness Works partners with local school systems and shelters through various programs to provide children an escape from the trouble of home and the space to be a kid again. They host after-school and weekend events during the school year through their Day Camp and City Camp programs. The summer season includes their Core Camp and Field Camp programs and sessions at various summer camps around the state.  Wilderness Works provides a needed positive as it equips and enriches the lives of children with character development, experiential education, and relationship building.
